Stunningly Accurate Prophecy From Orwell

“Looking at the world as a whole, the drift for many decades has been not towards anarchy but towards the reimposition of slavery. We may be heading not for general breakdown but for an epoch as horribly stable as the slave empires of antiquity…few people have yet considered the kind of world-view, the kind of beliefs, and the social structure that would probably prevail in a state which was at once unconquerable and in a permanent state of cold war with its neighbors.”  – George Orwell

If you read through and fail to understand how it applies directly to the U.S. right now, you have been living with your head buried in the sand for the past decade.

I got that quote from this post at Jesse’s Cafe Americain:   The Anglo-American System Is An Accident Waiting To Happen.

  1. Have you being following the gas negotiations between the EU, Ukraine and Russia?

The Russians have offered Ukraine a straight price of $375 per 1,000 m’s and want their existing gas debt paid. The EU have agreed the Ukrainians have refused and want their debts to be paid by some else.

You will recall Joe Bidden son recently joined Ukrainian gas as a typical piece of corruption. Bidden is rumored to have a stake in company.

Yatsenyuk (ex-Goldman now the Prime Minister of Ukraine) is preparing to cut the gas off to Europe by refusing to play ball demanding more money. Ukraine supplies 15% of Europe’s supplies. The US has been jumping all over anyone who tries to promote South Stream as an alternative transit route hence Joe’s rumored investment which could become very profitable.

The Germans are in charge of the negotiations and the faces of the negotiating team are looking very tense as it is clear the US is expecting Germany to pay for Ukraine. Cutting off the gas would cause a chain of defaults in Europe, starting in two months with Bulgaria.

The majority of Germans believe that the US ordered the shootings in Maidan that started this mess and the whole thing is a US inspired coup like Allende in Chile. This has US state department in a spin from looking at their spokespeople.

    1. Would love to see a chain of defaults and mass chaos everywhere. We need some kind of catalyst for real change. The alternative is that 99.5% of us will suffer “Chinese water torture” into serfdom.

      1. Yes, but any kind of ‘real change’ will only benefit the puppet masters.

Remember, they LOVE chaos and crisis.

  2. You could get your wish. The US doesn’t seem to understand the Russian negotiating techniques. Russians are like Americans they drop quite quickly to their bottom and line and won’t move from this position.

“Spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said after talks in Kiev that Russia would switch to an advance payment system if it did not receive the money, meaning Moscow could cut off gas supplies to Ukraine. Cutting supplies could disrupt the gas flow to the European Union”, reports Reuters.

The press coverage of these talks is a cartoonist pastiche of reality. In his lecture the oligarchical topography of Ukraine, Andre Fursov explains the basic analysis of the Russian political scientists. In 1968 they believe that had the Paris Spring gone on another six weeks it would have been NATO who locked down a European country. NATO had exactly the same protocols in place as the Warsaw Pact and it was only by chance that NATO did not locked Paris. The lock down of Prague in September in their opinion destroyed the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union. In 1968 half the world was in a pre-revolutionary phase and the Warsaw Pact got blamed as the bad boys of Europe not NATO.

Ukraine has unfunded liabilities this year of $142 b there is no way that under, an IMF plan there is going to be more than $17 b. The contraction of the economy is going to be hard to believe. Gas represents 40% of Ukrainian household expenses a 64% increase at least coupled with IMF austerity is going to put Ukraine in a much worse position than Egypt. There has never been an austerity program by the IMF that has not led to massive street demonstrations and usually they result in martial law.

If Russia’s analysis is right a popular revolution in Ukraine will coincide with a systemic collapse of the European banking system caused by the gas cut off. The Russians don’t have any reasons to be anything but reasonable in their demands as the Ukraine will never be able to pay and a gas cut-off will bring down Europe. NATO will be seen putting down the demonstrators with martial law and Germany will be asked to pay for the chaos.

In short Russia has no reason to invade or indeed react to situation at all.
